Karen
Hoppa, Director
Auburn Head Soccer Coach
Karen Hoppa just completed her seventh year as the Head Coach at Auburn
University. Success has become a tradition for the Auburn Soccer program.
Over the past four years, Auburn has won four SEC West titles, won the overall
SEC championship in 2002, and earned four consecutive trips to the NCAA
tournament. For her efforts, Hoppa was named 2002 SEC Coach of the Year.
Previously, she led her University of Central Florida team to 5 conference
championships, and a trip to the NCAA tournament. Coach Hoppa has 19 years
of coaching experience, 22 years of playing experience, and has directed
soccer camps for 11 years. She holds a USSF 'A' License, is currently a
US National Staff Coach and was an Assistant Coach for the 2002 U19 World
Cup Champions. As a player, she was the 1991 NCAA Goalkeeper of the Year
and an All-American.
Keidane
McAlpine, Assistant Director
Auburn Assistant Coach
Keidane "KD" McAlpine has completed his second year as an Assistant Coach
at Auburn, leading AU to their second straight NCAA appearance. Prior to
joining Auburn's staff, he was the Head Coach at Birmingham Southern, while
they competed at the NCAA Division I level. He lead BSC to a conference
championship and NCAA tournament bid while earning Big South Coach of the
year honors. KD is also a member of the ODP Region III Staff and holds a
USSF "A" License.
Amy
Berbary
Auburn Assistant Coach
Amy is in her first year as an assistant coach at Auburn
University. Before coming to the plains, she was the top assistant at the
University of Dayton, where she helped the flyers to an NCAA tournament
appearance and coached two Atlantic-10 players of the year. Prior to Dayton,
Amy was the Head Varsity Coach at Gainsville HS in Georgia where she was
a two-time Coach of the Year. As a player, she lead the University of Georgia
to a sweet 16 finish, leading the team in scoring three straight seasons.
The Camp Staff
In addition to the Auburn Soccer Coaching staff, the camp staff consists of college and high school coaches, as well as current college players. All of the staff have played soccer at a high level, which allows them to demonstrate during each session in order to aid in the learning process.
